Scientific Profile

Making devices fit living vessels.

Toward device–vessel Suitcordance in panvascular intervention. I am an interventional cardiologist working where the catheter meets the engineering bench: intravascular imaging, bioresorbable materials, flexible electronics and computational models of the artery.

About

Lingsen You (游凌森)

I am Lingsen You (游凌森), an interventional cardiologist and research fellow at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, and serve as Scientific Secretary of the National Basic Science Center for Panvascular Interventional Complex Systems, working under the leadership of Prof. Junbo Ge, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

My work sits in the gap between biomedical engineering and clinical cardiology: from large animal models for preclinical validation, to the flexible electronics and computational models that make a device legible, to the moment it is first used in a person.

That arc now reaches the patient. I help drive the ongoing clinical programme of XINSORB, China’s first fully bioresorbable coronary scaffold, where much of my work is the analysis and writing up of trial data now being prepared for EAPCI 2027 in Milan. It is the point at which the question is no longer whether a device performs on the bench, but whether it belongs in the artery.

The idea I am chasing

Suitcordance: how well a device belongs in the vessel it is put into.

A stent can be perfectly deployed and still be a poor fit. Suitcordance names the state that matters over a patient's lifetime: immediate mechanical suitability, plus long-term biological concordance with the living wall. It is one measure spanning three balances, on both the acute and the chronic timescale.

MechanicalStress, hemodynamics, apposition and expansion
CellularEndothelium, smooth muscle, immune integration
PhysicochemicalpH, lipids, lactate, local immune milieu

Selected publications

Journal metrics are 2025 JIF values released in 2026; journals without a 2025 JIF do not display one. Publication years follow Crossref records, and each title links to its DOI of record.

Beyond the lab

Football

An active amateur player, representing Zhongshan Hospital in Shanghai municipal competitions.

Swimming

The endurance built in the pool turns out to match what long, complex procedures ask for.

Travel

Over a dozen countries so far, from the ruins of Rome to the Swiss Alps, and still counting.

Get in touch

Open to collaboration on device–vessel matching, imaging and computation.

If you work on intravascular optics, bioresorbable materials, flexible sensing or vascular modelling, or you are a student looking for a real project, write to me. I read everything that arrives.
